Master Brandon Jordan is a martial arts teacher and practitioner with over 2 decades worth of training and a lifetime of skill and knowledge. Alongside his path as a martial artist, he has deeply studied various Asian meditation methods such as Zen and Tibetan Buddhism and is a traditional African Priest of IFA, better known as a Babalawo, having been initiated in Abeokuta, Nigeria. He is also a skilled healer in Traditional Chinese Medicine having earned a graduate diploma in Tui Na medical massage. These complementary paths combined have sown an interesting yet rewarding path for him as a teacher.
He began his martial arts journey 25 years ago during elementary and middle school with the arts that were available at the time, such as Judo, Wrestling, and Karate. During his formative years, he competed in various local and national tournaments, placing in both fighting and forms competition, and later judging for the tournaments. As a young adult, he quickly rose through the ranks in Derobio Eskrima, Sphinx Karate, and other Arnis styles. After obtaining the red shirt level (Master), he went on to study and learn Indonesian martial arts further adding to the knowledge base that would inform his view to a balanced practice.
Never one to rest upon past achievements, Master Brandon began merging the best of the old with new ideas to birth the development of his art, Mandala Mandirigma, upon the advice of his teachers.
Alongside his martial arts training, Master Brandon found himself deeply immersed in spiritual practices, being inspired by stories of old masters who taught and promoted a delicate balance of martial, healing, and spiritual practices. Over time Master Brandon began to embody a similar approach to teaching and living, which has culminated in him becoming a modern day warrior/priest/healer like the old generation of masters. The last several years have afforded him the opportunity to travel and cross-reference his knowledge and experiences with that of many other instructors and spiritual mentors, in turn gaining a deeper appreciation of his practice. His approach and promotion of Mandala Mandirigma reflects an art that is truly an ancestral practice and a lineage transmission.
Master Brandon has developed and continues to refine a unique approach to martial arts and personal development. His system is 1 of 5 official branches of the Derobio method, standing as a separate system in the grace of the late GGM Braulio Pedoy who alongside General Faustino Ablen is the spiritual patriarch, ancestor and inspiration to the evolution and foundation of the Mandala Mandirigma system. Master Brandon is currently located and teaching in the greater Seattle, WA area.
